Is there anyone from Asia or anywhere in the East? I know nothing about the local wildlife there, and I cannot find any guide books at the local bookstores and things, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Especially owl advice Wink

It sounds like a rich life experience awaits you! Good luck. I've seen one field guide to birds of the Korean Peninsula

A Field Guide to the Birds of Korea.

Here's a list of the owl fauna from the Birds of Korea website.
    Grass Owl Tyto capensis.

    Oriental Scops Owl Otus sunia.

Collared Scops Owl Otus bakkamoena (?).

    Eurasian Eagle Owl Bubo bubo.

    Tawny Owl Strix aluco.

    Ural Owl Strix uralensis.

    Little Owl Athene noctua.

*Northern Boobook Ninox japonica (after King, 2002 b).

    Long-eared Owl Asio otus.

    Short-eared Owl Asio flammeus.

Good luck and keep in touch,

Michael
