I saw it, but it wasn't as good as the book. It left out Roy Eberhardt mooning Dana Matherson! It was funny in the book, and in the movie.
If you like to yawn, this is a good "yawning" movie. I dunno if I would reccomend it, I would reccomend reading the book though!

I tend to see movies based on the actors in it (owls, in this case). For example, I have seen every Johnny Depp movie in the last ten years when it was in the theater (if it was in the US, of course). I even saw The Libertine, which wasn't great, but he was in it, so I saw it.

Is this worth it for the owls? Are they in the movie enough to make it worth my time?

I know the book was better- it always is! I challenge anyone to name one movie that was better than the book.

Heres a tip-

ALWAYS read the book(s) before the movie(s)! It'll make a lot more sense if you know what they're talking about and if you know what they're talking about!

My understanding is that the plot is to save the owls' habitat from being taken away. While they may not be the main characters, they are definitely important to the premise of the book (which is the premise of the movie).

I haven't-- and am not much of a movie goer, so I probably won't. The reviews weren't too glowing, but if it is asomething that raises awareness of owl habitat-- i suppose it's a good thing.

In answer to owlette's question: One of the best movies of all time was very faithful to the book and did it justice (though it left a couple of things out-- because the movie was already very long): Gone With the Wind.

Hi. I haven't been around here for quite a while. I almost forgot my password.

Hi to Rochelle. (You emailed my website about your book.)

"Hoot" was one of my favourite books. I've heard mixed reviews about the movie, but I'm tempted to see it anyway.

If I see it, I'll let you know what I think...

HI OWLSQUILL!!!!
Glad to see some "new faces"!

Anyways...I loved the book but in most movies they leave out the best parts because there is not enough time!

Thats okay. I finally read the Hoot book a few monthes ago; my friend and I were planning on seeing the movie, but we were pretty busy over the summer. Confused I'm hearing it wasn't as good as the book (most movies that are based off of books aren't anyway), but I'm still kind of curious.
