Wow! We are on the same chapter! I just started chapter 7 though. You're right, Soren should be thankful, seeing as she saved him from becoming moon-blinked. I like how smart Gylfie is, I think she should become Soren's mate. Very Happy That would make a good plot.

You're right. Gylfie is pretty smart, with the planning. It's nice that she willing to wait for Soren. She pointed out that she wouldn't leave without him when he tells her that his feathers were plucked.

I can't remember how long it was before Soren and Gylfie were to be moon scalded, which they avoided by lowly reciting the legends of Hoole. It may be a little cliché now, the idea of friends becoming knowing that they are kidnapped by those under the same employer. However, I like what Soren and Gylfie have. Besides, you know what they say: "Two heads are better than one"

I agree that they are really a great pair. They seem to work well together and not bicker. I can't see how they'll ever look at each other as a band, they should be just Siren and Gylfie.

Do you know the scene in the book when Soren watches an egg hatch in what they called the Eggorium? It's repulsive that the guards just broke the egg open and snatched the little hatchling. I looked back on that once, and envisioned that Soren felt like crying. That's how I would feel.

I tried to forget it....It's just awfully sad that they recklessly broke it open. I also hate how Soren's commander at St.Aggies just ate owlets! That ripped my heart out!

Who here thought Hortense got killed in the first book? I did, until reading "The Siege".

I found it sad that Grimble became a slave to St. Aggie's just to ensure the safety of his mate and daughter. His chance to stop doing the dirty work at that so-called academy, was how he helped Soren and Gylfie escape. It was also sad that he had to die when that happened. I now like to think, Grimble died a hero.

I remember now: the scene in the book when Soren finds the hollow of the tree where his parents were. First time I read that, I felt like crying. It was just so sad. Heart-breaking for him. Crying or Very sad

I'm finished the book. You can't argue with the logic: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." That's the case with the fate that brought Soren with Gylfie, Twilight, and Digger. They are much like family. Diverse and having more differences than their images, but their skills are what makes them perfect allies.

Another thing: if you happen to read this, you'll know that I've finished the book. Honestly, it was much restraint on my part, reading one chapter at a time. I'm used to reading the same book for an hour at a time, which means 35-50 pages. I intend to post my opinions on Book 2. However, I get no reply to any of my comments on the topic of the first book, that will not be the case.

You finished it already? I have like, three more chapters! It's been so good and I'm glad to be getting in the climax of it. I lost it two days ago and I just found my book again.

Lutie, we should really have a chatroom. Not a private one, but we just have to hang out more often.

I know I'm not supposed to be here, but I watch all the threads.

Anyway, I could probably get a GoG chatroom and put up a link somewhere.
