Okay, this is sort of a game but it doesn't have to do with GoG. Basically, I will post something about my favorite owl species. Someone will reply back with their favorite species, and one reason it is better. Another person will do the same, and it will keep going.

For example, I could say great horned owls are awesome because they have yellow eyes. Then someone else responds back saying that eagle owls are better because they have orange eyes. Another person could come in and say barn owls are best, because colored eyes look creepy on owls. So on so forth.

Here's the rules -- you have to include AT LEAST one picture with your post, and can post UP TO two. AND, you may one have only ONE sentence per picture!
You may switch sides if you like, or stick with one species for the entire duration of the game.

So, without further ado...

Ural owls are the best species of owl because their chicks are adorable :3

I bet you can guess mine...

Wait for it...

Wait...

Barn Owls are the best species of owl because they have the most buoyant flight out of all owls, so they have to use the lest effort out of all owls to fly. This explains why they float so ghost like over fields.

Hurr... I added it in all it's awesomeness, are you happy now? Very Happy

You didn't post a picture, so you loose.

Tasmanian Masked Owls are the superior species because when Glaux comes to reap the sinners, the crippled, the impotent, the unclean, only Tytonidae will remain. And within Tytonidae, the robust and noble Tasmanian Masked Owls, largest and most powerful of the Barn Owls, will dominate the Earth. The New Age will be prosperous and eternal; all shall tremble before the might of the Tasmanian Masked Owls and despair, for they shall be humbled and through death alone shall their souls be cleansed...

The strongest will survive, Tasmianian Masked Owl master race.

Yup Eve, you gotta post a picture Razz

Glaux is not of any one species, but rather was the first order of owls from which "[all owls] descended."

So if you would like to play the Glaux card, then typical owls would be the purest of all owls, for all owls are descended from a falcon-like bird, which barn owls have strayed from dramatically, making typical owls more similar to the original Glaux and thus, purer.

Plus, their owlets are disgusting.

Thus, Ural owls remain superior, as they are typical owls and consistently adorable.

(also, since this is a generic owl game and not a GoG game, could we try not to lean heavily on Pure One/Guardian stuff please? It's okay if you mention a character now and again, but I don't want this to become another Pure One thread)

It wasn't exactly a Pure One thing, POs judged worthiness based on average color of the race, not strength of the race. And I don't think they believed Glaux had god-like powers, wasn't Glaux just their version of Adam and Eve?

and Barn Owlets ARE cute
But if you want to go the "'cuz itz kute" route, I say Saw Whets win

(but speaking of Pure Ones, typing this made me realize...are the Pure Ones, like, Mormons?)

I amend the rules so that you can have two images. One to discredit your opponent, one to drive your own point.
Also, if we could veer back towards owl species and not characters, that'd be preferable...

That's just a drawing of him. IRL, Woodsy Owl is derpy.

Great horned owls give good advice.

Great Gray owls look invariably like fat, stupid old men.

Elf Owls are better, because they look invariably like tiny, angry old ladies
