Actually, there is one death I just found outrageous. In the three books where Soren and everyone else are reading Theo's diary, At the end of the third book (eleventh), (spoilers) Lutta the half-hagsfiend dies, without even being able to explain anything, or how she regretted what she had done. (This may be a bit incorrect. I haven't read it in awhile)

Ezylryb tore my eyes out- the other two were hags waiting to die. Laughing
But the worst one was Phillip, that was the end of me! Crying or Very sad

Sadly, Kathryn Lasky has a very bad habit of killing off her characters without giving them an interesting death, sure not all characters deaths should be special and unique, but some of the characters deaths were not heard of until many charters, or even books later. Take Stryker for example, he was a commanding officer in the High Command of the Pure Ones and his death was not even mentioned until later on, and why he died was quite sketchy as if the author did not care much for me. His character could have been a lot better due to his high position in the Pure Ones. Also, another example, I do not want to throw any spoilers, but just read The Rise of a Legend and read how the main antagonist dies after so much was said about him throughout the whole book.

Stryker dies? ._____.

... I don't know if I should ask people to put spoiler alerts on their posts or if I should just mark the entire topic one giant bulbous spoiler.

No, he comes back later. KL just writes his posed death as a cliff hanger.

Ezylryb's death was sadder, but not by much. Couldn't Kludd have killed him in book 4? Would have given Soren even more reason to hate him.
Didn't Kludd make a point to capture him alive because he wanted information about flecks? It wouldn't make since for him to kill Ezylryb.

From my point of view it seemed that Kludd wanted to extract the information he needed from Ezylryb before killing him. But then again, he could still be useful, for the information Kludd needed might not have just stopped at wanting to know more about flecks. With what Ezylryb knows, Kludd could have done some serious damage to the Guardians.

Am I the only one who was bothered by Coryn's death, but not very upset by it? I liked Coryn in The Hatchling but after that, I grew to really dislike him. When he died at the end, I was just kind of like... really now?

Just wait.
The Band's probably gonna die and be replaced with some other owls. Almost every character since the first book has died, so they're bound to die at some point.

If anyone has time, read this:

Part of a story I wrote last year. Just so you know, I hadn't even read book 11 at the time.

As much as I love Boron and Baran, Ezylryb is and always will be my favorite character. I screamed at that book. ;_;
