I think that krakish may have been based on German. If you think about it, 'Ja' is yes in krakish, also in German. There are many other krakish words that sound german too. Jouzhen would have to be chinese, wouldn't it? Or some asian language.

Have you noticed things like 'Glaux' and 'Glaucidium' are part of an owls' scientific name?

Yeah, and so is Aegolius.

Also, I think we've all come to the conclusion that Krakish is based off of German, Polish, Norwegian, and a bunch of other languages.

Isn't French what the species names are based on.

Welcome to the forum.

Erm, a little advice. Try to refrain from double-posting. But, that's okay, I'm sure that you'll get the hang of it. =]

Actually I wrote a letter to Kathryn Lasky about the Krakish Language
and she said it is made up of Yiddish/German/Norwegian/Latin/Spanish words. I myself can translate and speak almost all of the texts in Krakish.
For example,
-Phawish prak nraggg grash m'whocki = look at what your own, what owl eat
-Gimlich gimloc machten ma = give's off fall, give's off demise my did

-a ending in verbs is translated to = try

Vinca, Meebla!

-en can be the past tense
-hen the infinte tense
-ar another mood "can't"
-hening the present tense
-ung the present tense2
-er another mood "can?"

My glossary is on the next page as well!

-Murischeva = try to teach to fight
-Heviggin = honor from
-Vorden = them
-Y = and

Howdy there! Thanks for the info. You should make a welcome post so we can all say 'hi'.
Also, please don't double/triple/quadruple post (etc). We have a nice 'edit' button in the corner of each of your posts so you can add stuff.
